onlynokia5800.blogspot.com just contacted Nokia via Email.

One of the reason is users are complaining that they are not receiving Email after few days.
I've receive their Emails just after a few hours after that.

A reply from NokiaSupport are as below:-

Concerning your enquiry, the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music does not have any known issues.
If there were any particular issue with a Nokia product, Nokia would be aware of
them and would make an official announcement for end users.

I do understand your concern and doubt with the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music.
However, I wish to assure you that all Nokia products undergo a thorough
quality assurance program with extensive research and development.
Nokia maintains the most stringent quality controls available so that
we can confidently provide one of the most reliable products in the industry.
The experience that you have encountered is certainly not typical of Nokia's
level of product quality and reliability.

I have taken the liberty, to personally send your email as feedback to our
Research and Development team for future consideration.

In regards to the firmware of the device, Nokia does not have a timeframe
on when is the release dates. This is because the latest software’s will
undergo some test to ensure it is compatible, safe and functional.

Hope the above helps to clarify your query.

Thank you for emailing Nokia

Kind regards,

Nokia 5800 App Review: Eyecall

After being completely bowled over by qik the other day, I was hunting for a suitable app to follow up for reviewing on my 5800. Qik may be in the top of the list of coolest applications available on symbian platform today but not to be left far behind is this another cool application from the benches of eyeSight. Lets see how cool this application really is and how well it fares on our 5800s.

Installation

eyeCall is available as a paid application on the ovi store but as you guys must have realised by now, the payment option in ovi store is not working ever since it opened its floodgates to the whole world. I mean it was perfectly functional when I reviewed ovi client on 5800 when it was soft launched in a selected few countries. A few hours later when it was launched worldwide, payment option seized to work, blame it on the traffic surge! I came across this application while browsing through the ovi store and was totally drawn by its features after going through the item description. I didnt let the payment faux in ovi store deter me and found a beta version of the app on mobicreed. As you may guess, a beta application will probably be unsigned and it was indeed, prompting me to sign the app using the method described in my earlier post. Well, now I was all set to get a feel of eyeCall on my 5800.

Nokia Ovi Store now live

Ovi Store live in Singapore, Australia, Spain and Ireland

Yeah, finally Nokia’s OVI store is now LIVE in Australia, Ireland, Singapore and Spain with phased launches in other parts of the globe. Who knows, by the time you read this post, OVI store may be up and running in your very own country. Till then, roll back and enjoy this exclusive review of OVI store on Nokia 5800.

Alarmed by the success of Apple’s App store which boasts of more than a billion application downloads in less than a year, every major smartphone company is coming up with their own App stores. RIM’s APPworld and Android’s Android Market have been roaring ever since their launches early this year. Not to be left far behind, Nokia had promised its customers its very own App store with over 20,000 items in the store on its inaugural launch. Well, Nokia has stood by its word with its launch of Ovi store today, while there is no feasible way to check with its 20,000 items (items and not applications!) claim, lets just take their word on that for the time being.

Nokia 5800 ebook: A Scandal in Bohemia

Throw a mobile device with a 3.2″ screen at 360 x 640 resolution at developers and its only natural that they come up with ebooks and ereaders for the device. Its been like 18 months since Kindle was first released in US market and the market for portable electronic readers has been gaining grounds ever since then. If you ask me, I will not bother shelling out upwards of USD 300 on ebook reader alone and would love to have an application which can bring ebook reader capabilities to my mobile phone. Fortunately for me, many developers have been working on this concept and I stumbled upon this amazing reader from Offscreen Technologies.

Nokia 5800 Widget Review - Google translator

Google translator needs no introduction and is one of the most widely used applications on internet today. I am sure am speaking for most of the geek community here, when I say that at many a times, I land on a site in foreign language, with no links for an English version. Most of the times, you badly need the information and need it fast. That’s where google translator pitches in, I get the required info from the website in a matter of seconds. Now you don’t have to switch on a PC for your quick translation needs, for google team has come up with a google translator widget for our beloved 5800s.

Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 for Nokia 5800

Adobe Flasth Lite 3.1 is now available on Nokia 5800 (well, its been like 15 hrs since it first surfaced on internet). Prior to this, Adobe Flash updates were incorporated into firmware upgrades. This time, Adobe has decided to make this update available as an independent download. To update flash lite on your 5800, go to menu-> applications-> app. update.

App. update first appeared on Nokia 5800 in firmware v20, so you need to update your firmware, if you are running on v20 or earlier. The application update checks for updates on all the installed applications and hence very convenient to update all your applications at just one go. Its something like Windows update on your desktop and is much better than windows for this update application checks for available updates for all the installed applications. As can be seen in the screenshots to the left, there were two updates available for installed applications on my phone. It took me less than a minute to update and install both the updates over wi-fi.
