SMS Timer is a nice little app that you don’t even miss it until you start using it. At that point you’ll ask yourself: “Why isn’t this already in the phone? Isn’t this supposed to be a smartphone?”
But let me explain what this is all about. This is an application that does a simple job: it enables you to send messages at a certain schedule allowing you to delay them, unlike a regular SMS, that you send the minute you press “send”.
It works in a very simple fashion. You write a message like you normally would, and then hit send, to send it. At this point SMS Timer appears and asks you if you want to send the message right away or if you want to schedule it for later. The program gets embedded with the Nokia 5800, so its integration is really easy and natural. At first sight it may not seem very useful, but for example, if you want to surprise someone at an exact time, this little app will make it for you smoothly. Or if you’re like me and like to send happy birthday right at midnight, you can go to bed earlier because SMS Timer will do it for you!
But let’s imagine you want to change something in the message. That’s something SMS Timer lacks. You can’t change anything but the scheduled date and time. And it doesn’t change it in the message you previously set up. No… it adds a second message to the queue, so you may need to be careful to not send the same message twice. If you want, you can always cancel one or all the messages waiting in the line to be sent.
