eyeCall is an amazing mobile phone call control application. eyeCall enables the user to silent an incoming call, by a simple hand motion, without touching the mobile device or keypad. In addition, eyeCall offers to send a predefined text message by simply covering the phone with the hand.

Another cool application just out for Nokia 5800 and N97 is ‘EGi Mobile Aquarium’. The application turns your touchscreen into a virtual fish aquarium. The two clown fishes in the aquarium follows your finger as soon as you touch the screen.

The application is really cute and comes as a freeware. The virtual aquarium on your 5800 looks very realistic with the freshwater sound in the background and realistic behavior of the fishes. There are also a few plants that the fishes can swim into. Read more »

Nokia 5800 App Review: Tweets60 v1.22

“Tweet“ing has really caught up with the internet crowd today. Not being on twitter is being looked down upon with the same disdain as someone who doesn’t own a mobile phone these days. Such is the popularity of “twitter”, that one of the hottest applications across several mobile platforms today are several twitter clients letting users tweet, right from their mobile phones. Tweets60 v1.22 is one such twitter client bringing “tweet” functions to Nokia 5800s for free.

Installation

Tweets60 v1.22 can be downloaded for free from their official website here. The installation (.sisx file) is just 107 kb, making it easier and economical (if you are on a pay as you use data plan) to download right from your mobile browser. It took me like 5 s on opera mini over wi-fi to download this application. Installation is pretty straightforward with the customary warnings for untrusted application and data access permissions. In all, download and installations shouldn’t take more than 20s on our 5800s.

Hand Motion-based game coming to Nokia 5800

Bowled over by demo video of project Natal of Xbox 360? You don’t have to wait for Microsoft to get a feel of “no controller” gaming if you have a symbian 5th editions phone. Surprised? eyeSight, yeah the developers of eyeCall, a cool application which let you silence an incoming call with a flick of your hand have lined up something cooler than eyeCall for mobile phones powered by symbian 5th edition OS. Titled “Eat This”, this amazing game is bringing motion control gaming sans controller to our 5800s. Check out the promotional video below to see for yourself what this amazing game has to offer on 5800s.

If eyeCall used the front camera for silencing the calls, “Eat This” (looks like) will be using the main camera for motion detection or rather letting us use our hands as a controller for gameplay. Now the creative heads at Xbox were not the only ones to have thought about this “you are the controller” concept and one can expect, Eat This to be available on our symbian devices much earlier than Natal lands up on our Xbox consoles.
